Eastbourne Walks
Hampden Park Walks take place on the first Saturday of every month. Please note that from October 2nd 2010 the walks will start at 14:00 until April 2011.
Hampden Park Walks
It all started in May 2009 when we held our first walk in Hampden Park, Eastbourne. The first walk had five hounds turn up, but we persevered and by October it had become a regular event. At this point we decided to ask if those attending would make a contribution to the trust. Since then (5 walks) we have raised almost £100. The Hampden Park Walks are a firm item in the calender for owners living East of the Downs. We meet on the first Saturday of every month at the cafe in Hampden Park, Nr Eastbourne at 14:00 hours (2pm). The walk is usually through the woods and the round the playing fields and lasts around an hour. We finish back at the cafe for refreshments and a chat. We have around 20 hounds turn up but we are always looking for new owners to join us and enjoy the sight of so many hounds being walked in the park. With winter arriving, the we will start the walks earlier in the day at around 14:00 to ensure we have enough daylight and that the cafe will be open (hopefully!) when we finish. As summer arrives, we will possibly start the walks later in the day at around 17:00 to avoid taking the hounds out in the heat of the day. Why not try us out on our next walk. All owners and their hounds are welcome. Further information and details of start times can be found on Brighton & Hove RGT forum, in the 'Walkies' topic. We are always on the lookout for other owners to organise REGULAR walks in other areas of Sussex. If you think you could please contact Abi at abidabidoodaa@aol.co.uk or Chris & Jayne on the forum. All dogs must be kept under the control and supervision of their owners. All dogs attend at their owner's risk and while every care will be taken, we accept no responsibility for loss, damage or injury however caused to dogs, persons or property while at these events.

Brighton Walks
Devil's Dyke Walks take place on the second Saturday of every month, until changed to the Winter venue of Stanmer Park.
Devil's Dyke & Stanmer Park Walks
Now that Diana & I have completed our trial walks in the area, the general concensus of opinion is that we walk at Devil's Dyke in the Summer on a Saturday afternoon/evening as the pub there is great for drink, and at Stanmer Park in the Winter on a Sunday morning as the cafe is convenient for a coffee/snack afterwards. We will try to walk on the second Saturday or Sunday of the month to get into a regular routine.
Here are our next walks :
Last of the Summer walks : DEVIL'S DYKE SATURDAY 14TH AUGUST - Walk commences @ 17:30 SATURDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER - Walk commences @ 17:30.
Moving to the Winter walks : STANMER PARK SUNDAY 10TH OCTOBER - Walk commences @ 11:00.
LOCATION / MEETING POINT DETAILS : DEVIL'S DYKE PUB, DYKE ROAD, BRIGHTON, BN1 8YJ. Meeting point is by the stone bench seat / monument / viewfinder in front of the far end of the pub. Car parking costs £2.00, but is free to National Trust members who display their member sticker. STANMER PARK, STANMER, BRIGHTON, BN1 9QA. Meeting point is the green at the front of Stanmer House by the pond. There are a few small car parks as you approach the house but the nearest to the meeting point is the Church car park - Follow the road round to the right past the house and church and it's on the left when you reach the pond. Please do not park on the road or grass verges. If the park car parks are full, then there are two at the bottom of the park by the entrance.
Any donation for RGT Brighton & Hove would be greatly appreciated.
We just have two rules which we would ask you to follow : 1. All dogs on leads. 2. Poop to be scooped.
All dogs must be kept under the control and supervision of their owners. All dogs attend at their owner's risk and while every care will be taken, we accept no responsibility for loss, damage or injury however caused to dogs, persons or property while at these events.
